KJ Osrn of the Vikings assisted in saving a man from a flaming car: "Right spot at the right moment"
K.J. Osborn, a wide receiver for the Min
nesota Vikings, never imagined he would return home a hero as he sat in his Uber in Austin, Texas, on Sunday night.
On ESPN's "The Adam Schefter Podcast," Osborn said that on his way home from a night out with friends on Sunday, he assisted in saving a man from a burning car
Osborn, who was in Austin for training, wanted to spend one more night out with his trainer, running back D'Andre Swift of the Detroit Lions, and other friends before he left. But when his Uber driver saw a car, that joyful night rapidly turned into a dramatic incident. Both of them jumped into action to assist the driver from the burning vehicle after the collision.
Osborn proceeded to tell Schefter, "It's a position I never envisaged myself in a billion years. But I'm on my way home, riding in the back of an Uber, and I've had my head down and am talking on the phone. My Uber driver suddenly becomes irrational. He exclaims, "Oh my god! Oh, my God! There is no one on the street when I look up and wonder what the fuss is about. He says, "This man wrecked," and as I turn to look to my right, I see what appears to be a car tucked between the pillars of a bridge. He is facing his car.He crashed into the pillar, and now his automobile is on fire.
"Initially, there were three other persons in addition to my Uber driver, who is also a hero. all champions. We need to contact 911, he said as soon as he got out of the car. "No, we have to go save this guy," I say.

Osborn claimed that he, his Uber driver, as well as another guy and woman, arrived on the scene to assist the driver in getting out of the vehicle. Naturally, Osborn was a little wary at first because the automobile was on fire and might have exploded at any moment
Yet instinct took over, and everyone there started conversing with the man in an effort to so they could drag him out, they coaxed him to go to the passenger seat.
Osborn lifted the man after he exited the automobile, and they all walked away from the flaming vehicle.
"He was bleeding profusely all over my shirt and everything when I lifted him up after we got him out of the car. We are a little farther from the car because of this as I pick him up and carry him approximately 10 to 15 yards. Eventually, the ambulance arrived. The flames were put out by the firefighters. It was a good automobile. The police officers came back and thanked us for saving the man's life after gathering all of his information."
Osborn is still earning his degree at the University of Miami.master's degree in criminal justice because, according to him, following his playing career, he wants to join the FBI or Secret Service. He saw this circumstance as something that, if he ever really pursues it, would fit into that job description in the future, which has subsequently given him a lot of perspective.
I didn't think it would have a big impact on me. I had assumed that I could simply fall asleep and be OK, but I couldn't.
