Jeon Jung-kook (Korean: ; born September 1, 1997) is a South Korean singer who goes by the stage name Jungkook (stylised as Jung Kook). He sings in the South Korean boy band BTS.
Jungkook has released three solo songs as part of BTS' discography: "Begin" in 2016, "Euphoria" in 2018, and "My Time" in 2020. All three songs reached the top 10 on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart. Also, he produced the soundtrack song "Stay Alive" for the BTS-based webcomic 7Fates: Chakho. He had an appearance on Charlie Puth's 2022 song "Left and Right," which peaked at number 22 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Later same year, with the release of "Dreamers," he made history as the first South Korean musician to release music for the FIFA World Cup soundtrack.He then gave a performance at the FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony in 2022. The solo songs by Jungkook have also done well on streaming services, with "Dreamers," "Stay Alive," and "Left and Right" all breaking the record for a Korean soloist's highest debut single on the Spotify World list.
Childhood and education:
Jeon Jung-kook (Korean: ) was born on September 1, 1997, in Busan, South Korea.
His parents and older brother make up his family. In Busan, he went to Baekyang Elementary and Intermediate Schools. He changed schools to Singu Middle School in Seoul when he was became a trainee. When he was younger, Jungkook originally wanted to be a badminton player, but after watching G-Dragon perform "Heartbreaker" on television, he changed his mind and decided he wanted to be a singer instead.
In 2011, Jungkook participated in the Daegu auditions for the South Korean talent programme Superstar K.
Despite not being chosen, he received casting offers from seven entertainment organisations. He eventually decided to join Big Hit Entertainment as a trainee after witnessing RM, now his leader of BTS and a bandmate. He travelled to Los Angeles in the summer of 2012 to undergo dance instruction at Movement Lifestyle in order to hone his dance abilities in front of his debut. He was a dance backup for Glam prior to his debut, and he had an appearance in Jo Kwon's "I'm Da One" music video in June 2012
In 2017, he obtained his high school diploma from the School of Performing Arts Seoul.
He made the decision to forgo the CSATs, Korea's national university entrance exam, in November 2016. He obtained his diploma from the Broadcasting and Entertainment Department of Global Cyber University in March 2022. The President's Award, the highest accolade bestowed by the school, was given to him.
CAREER:
With the release of the track "2 Cool 4 School" on June 12, 2013, Jungkook made his BTS debut. He's performed three solo songs for BTS. The first, a pop song named "Begin" from the 2016 album Wings, recalls his narrative of going to Seoul at an early age to become an idol and shows his thanks for his comrades for looking after him during that time. The second, a future bass song titled "Euphoria," was made available on April 5, 2018, along with a nine-minute short video that served as its introduction to the third installment of BTS' "Love Yourself" series. The song, which was produced by DJ Swivel, peaked at number five on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 list. Its studio is complete.version was published on August 24 as part of BTS' compilation album Love Yourself: Answer. The third single, "My Time," from the band's 2020 studio album Map of the Soul: 7, is an R&B song about forgoing youthful experiences because of his career and peaked at number 84 on the US Billboard Hot 100. With a record-breaking 90 and 85 weeks, respectively, on the Billboard Global Digital Song Sales chart, "Euphoria" and "My Time" are the first and second longest-charting solo songs by K-pop performers.
Aside from singing, Jungkook has also contributed to the production of two songs for BTS: "Love is Not Over" from their 2015 extended play The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 1 and "Magic Store" from their 2017 extended play .He is listed as the primary producer of both songs on the 2018 album Love Yourself: Tear.
Moon Jae-in, the president of South Korea, conferred the fifth-class Hwagwan Order of Cultural Merit upon Jungkook and his bandmates in October 2018. Together with his bandmates once more, he was named Special Presidential Envoy for Future Generations and Culture by Moon in July 2021 in an effort to "grow South Korea's diplomatic efforts and worldwide status" in the international arena and "lead the global agenda for future generations."
