THE PAKISTANI SKIPPER :BABAR AZAM
Mohammad Babar Azam, a Pakistani cricketer who represents his country in all formats, was born on October 15, 1994 (Urdu and Punjabi: ). Being one of the best batters in modern cricket, he is the only player in the world to rank in the top five in every format. He is ranked first among batters in ODIs, fifth in tests, and fourth in T20Is. In Pakistan's domestic cricket league, the PSL, and Central Punjab, he is a right-handed top-order hitter who plays for and captains Peshawar Zalmi and Central Punjab. He is among the top T20I captains of all time, having led his team to 40 victories. The best individual score currently recorded in T20 is Azam's 122-run debut century against South Africa.in the format by a Pakistani. Azam competed for Pakistan on the squad that won the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy. Pakistan was defeated by England by five wickets in the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup finals under his captaincy.
EARLY TIMES:
A Punjabi Muslim family gave birth to Babar Azam on October 15, 1994. He was raised in the Walled City, where he recalls "playing cricket and frolicking in those streets like a free bird." He was drawn to cricket because of his older cousins, Kamran and Umar Akmal, and was motivated to make cricket his career by reading about them. Before joining a cricket academy and beginning his domestic cricket career there, he had worked as a ball boy at the Gaddafi Stadium. Throughout Pakistan's home series from 2006 to 2008, he was present.
His first coach, Rana Sadiq, who gave him batting fundamentals, was the person he turned to for advice. He eventually joined the Pakistani military.
INTERNATIONAL
CAREER:
In May 2015, Babar was selected for the Pakistani ODI team's home series against Zimbabwe. On May 31, he played in his first ODI and went on to hit a remarkable 50 runs off of just 60 balls in the third ODI. Both the Test and ODI squads chosen for an away series against Sri Lanka included him as a result of his outstanding debut. In the Test series, he was not chosen to play. He appeared in just two games of the ODI series, scoring just 37 runs. In September 2015, Babar was chosen for the team that travelled to Zimbabwe to play a series of ODIs.
He was kept in the team for the ODI match against England at home. For the four-match series' opening ODI, he Pakistan was able to win the game thanks to a 62-run innings with a 100 strike rate. He finished the following three matches with scores of 4, 22, and 51, respectively. He scored 139 runs overall, averaging 46.33, to finish the series.
Touring New Zealand in January 2016 was Pakistan. Babar hit 62 runs off 76 balls in the opening ODI match. By a score of 70 runs, Pakistan was defeated. With 145 runs in 2 innings at an average of 72.50, he was the series' top run scorer in ODIs.
In the five-match ODI series against England in July, he batted in five games but only managed to score 122 runs.
Against England on September 7, he played in his first Twenty20 international for Pakistan. He scored an unblemished 15 points.a run off 11 balls. Pakistan triumphed in the game and series.
A two-match ODI series was played by Pakistan against Ireland before the England series. In the opening ODI of the series, Pakistan defeated Ireland by 255 runs, setting a record for their largest ODI run victory. By his 29 runs, Babar helped his team win. Pakistan won the series 1-0 despite the second and final ODI being postponed due to rain.
2019 WORLD CUP:
He was selected in April 2019 for the Pakistani World Cup of Cricket team. He was listed as one of the five fascinating talents making their Cricket World Cup debuts by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in paragraph . As an international player for Somerset in the 2019 t20 Blast, he was also signed in May of that year.
Pakistan faced England in a single T20I match and a five-match ODI series just before the World Cup to help them prepare for the event. Before being run out in the T20I match, he had a score of 65 off 42 balls. He finished with 277 runs, including a century and two half-centuries, in the five-match ODI series, sharing the lead with only one other player.
