He was born on December 30, 1995, and goes by the name V in the music industry. He is a South Korean singer and a member of the boy band BTS.
After making his group debut in 2013, V has released three solo songs under their name: "Stigma" in 2016, "Singularity" in 2018, and "Inner Child" in 2020. Each of these songs reached the top 10 on the Gaon Digital Chart in South Korea. He had an appearance on the Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth soundtrack in 2016, and in 2019 he released his debut solo single, "Scenery," which he wrote himself.young age and education

Early in middle school, he started taking saxophone lessons with the encouragement of his father in an effort to pursue a musical career. After succeeding in a Daegu audition, finally became a trainee for Big Hit Entertainment.
After completing Korean Arts High School in 2014, the student enrolled at Global Cyber University and will graduate in August 2020 with a degree in Broadcasting and Entertainment. He will be attending Hanyang Cyber University in 2021 to complete his Master of Business Administration in Advertising and Media.

He served as BTS's "secret member" prior to his debut. Fans had no idea he even existed, as his agency wished to keep his identity a secret. He claimed that the idea had made him feel anxious and lonely since he believed he would be dropped from the lineup. He debuted with BTS on Mnet's M Countdown on June 13, 2013, performing the song "No More Dream" off their debut single album, 2 Cool 4 Skool. He received his first music composition credit as a co-writer and producer of the song "Hold Me Tight" in The Most Beautiful Time in Life, Part 1. Together with bandmate Suga, he contributed to the lyrics of the song "Fun Boys." V's melody was combined with Jungkook's vocals in the song "Run" from the album The Most Wonderful Time in Life, Part 2.original song lyrics. For the solo song "Stigma" from BTS' studio album Wings, V collaborated as a writer and composer (2016). Unofficially, V also made available a version of J-song Hope's "Hug Me" and an adaptation of Adele's "Someone Like You."
The trailer for BTS' then-upcoming third studio album, Love Yourself: Tear, featured "Singularity," V's second solo single, which was released in May 2018. On October 25, BBC Radio in the UK played the song for the first time. A month after its release, The Guardian added "Singularity" to their playlist of the "Best 50 songs for the month of June 2018," while Billboard ranked it number 28 on their list of the "Top 50 BTS songs" according to critics. On general, critics and audiences alike gave "Singularity" positive reviews.included on a few year-end critics' lists. Along with "Fake Love," The New York Times placed it 20th on its list of "The 65 Greatest Tracks of 2018." Mikael Wood of the Los Angeles Times ranked it as the fourth "greatest and most replay worthy song of 2018," while Laura Snapes of the Guardian cited it as one of her personal favourites on her list of the "Best Music of 2018: Albums and Songs.
The President of South Korea presented V and the other BTS members with the fifth-class Hwagwan Order of Cultural Merit medal on October 24 in recognition of their contributions to the promotion of culture. V is one of the youngest winners of this honour.
