After being banned from YouTube for two years, Donald Trump's account has now been restored.
The action comes after similar choices made by Twitter, which is owned by Elon Musk, and Meta, which controls Facebook and Instagram.
In January 2021, YouTube barred the former US president from uploading videos after determining that his channel had violated its policies regarding the incitement of violence.
But, according to YouTube's press account, his account is now active again.
The Donald J. Trump channel is no longer blocked and is able to upload new video, according to a tweet from YouTube, which is owned by Google.
"We carefully weighed the potential for voters to hear equally from the leading national contenders in the run-up to an election against the persistence of the risk of actual violence.
"this network will still be governed by our policies, just like every other YouTube channel.
BAN ON TECH:
Before, on January 6, 2021, days after his supporters stormed the US Capitol in Washington, DC, YouTube forbade Mr. Trump from uploading videos to its website.
As the US Congress attempted to recognise Joe Biden's victory in the presidential election, hundreds of rioters stormed the building.
Mr. Trump's Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts were all suspended following the rioting.
A few months later, he introduced Truth Social, his own social media website.
But Mr. Trump said in 2022 that he would seek the presidency of the United States in 2024, and ever since, his accounts on all of these sites have resurfaced.
On YouTube, he has more than 2.6 million subscribers.go along with his 34 million Facebook fans, 87 million Twitter followers, and 23 million Instagram followers.
Even still, there is no assurance that Mr. Trump will resume releasing films on YouTube.
